Chelsea Lehnea, Soprano

Soprano Chelsea Lehnea has been hailed for her "warm, agile and full voice." Ms. Lehnea joined the prestigious Merola Opera Program of the San Francisco Opera Center this year where she perfromed the roles of Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor and Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda. In the 2019-2020 season, she returns to Bel Cantanti Opera with a role debut as Gilda in Rigoletto. Chelsea made her Washington National Opera debut as Sister Catherine in Francesco Zombello's 2017 production of Dead Man Walking. Other recent engagements include Sarasota Opera as Frasquita in Carmen and Adalgisa in Norma, St. Petersburg Opera (Florida) as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, and Bel Cantanti Opera (Washington, DC) as Euridice in Orfeo and Euridice. Ms. Leahea is a graduate of the Maryland Opera Studio at the

                                             University of Maryland where she earned her Master in Music in Opera Performance.

                                               

opera-singer-2Peter Lake, Tenor

Peter Lake is described as "...relatably earnest, his voice carries a lush, warm timber." Mr. Lake is an internationally performing lyric-tenor who made his role and house debuts as Pinkerton in the ground-breaking English-Japanese production of Madame Butterfly with Pacific Opera Project and Opera in the Heights this past April. In May of 2019, Peter made his role debut as Rodolfo in Natchez Music Fetival's production of La Boheme. This summer he joined the Savannah Voice Festival where he performed Jinx in their production of Forever Plaid. Other recent performances include as Faust in the Natchez Festival of Music's production of Faust, as Pang in the Mississippi Opera's Turandot, and as Don Jose in the Mobile Opera's Carmen. Peter also wrote and starred in a one-man tribute to the life and works of Frank
                                              Sanatra with the Mississippi Opera cabaret series. Peter holdsa Masters of Music degree in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy from the
                                              University of Southern Mississippi.


opera-singer-3Neil Nelson, Bass-Baritone

Bass-Baritone Neil Nelson returns to Gulfshore Opera as an Artist in Residence after portraying the Marquese in April's La Traviata. Mr. Nelson has performed operatic roles with Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera, Opera Theater of St. Louis, Berkshire Opera, Orlando Opera, The New York Harlem Opera Theater and the Tartar State Opera Theater in Kazan, Russia. This year he made his debut as Porgy in Porgy and Bess with South Florida Symphony. His versatile repertoire also includes such roles as Conte di Luna in II Travatore with Winter Opera St. Louis; Scarpio in Tosca, Hagen in Gotterdammerung and Leporello in Don Giovanni with Union Avenue Opera; Sulpice in La Fille du Regiment with Palm Beach Opera; and Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance with Opera Theater of
                                             St. Louis. Mr. Nelson graduated from The New England Conservatory of Music. 

opera-singer-4Doug Han, Pianist, Vocal Coach

Conductor/pianist Doug Han enjoys an active domestic and international career in staged and concert opera. A fluent French and Italian speaker, he has recently made his European conducting debut conducting excerpts from Carmen in Sicily as well as joining Staatsoper Hamburg as rehearsal prompter for II barbiere di Siviglia. Additionally he served as assistant conductor and chorus master for St. Petersburg Opera's 2018-2019 season productions of Don Giovanni, Suar Angelica, Gianni Schicchi, and Madame Butterfly and joined the inaugural New York edition of Canto Vocal Programs as staff pianist. Mr. Han has placed as a finalist coach/coach for the Jette Parker Young Artist Program at London's Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
