The Conservancy of Southwest Florida, founded in 1964, is one of our state's largest and most respected environmental organizations. Its 21-acre Nature Center has recently undergone a $20 million redevelopment and expansion.
The Harvard Club will visit the impressive new Nature Center "after hours" for our private special event. In small guided groups, we will experience:
*The Dalton Discovery Center, depicting the ecosystems of Southwest Florida and featuring native animals and marine life in their habitat.
*The von Arx Wildlife Hospital's nursery viewing room and shorebird pool, part of a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to rehabilitating sick, injured and orphaned animals prior to their release into the wild.
*A comfortable and "silent" electric boat mini-cruise through the mangroves of the Gordon River, where the Center's trained captains will help us identify some of the plants and wildlife.
Following our tour, we will gather at the Allyn Family Lagoon & Dock to enjoy wine, soft drinks and light hors d'oevres, prior to departing for dinner or other evening plans.
Weather permitting, we will be outside for the boat ride and reception, so casual attire and comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Please arrive no later than 5PM to enable our guided groups to depart on time.
Cost: $18 per person. (Limited to the first 60 reservations due to the nature of the event). Cost and Time are subject to change.
Location:
The Conservancy Nature Center entrance is located on Smith Preserve Way, approached from Goodlette-Frank Road, just south of the Naples Zoo. Ample parking is available on site.
Tickets will be available for purchase online on February 23. Paper invitation will be mailed in February.
