klarman

One week after the 211th birthday of our greatest president, Abraham Lincoln, Professor Klarman will begin with ten minutes discussing some aspects of Lincoln’s legacy that may be unfamiliar to attendees.  Then he will discuss for about half an hour his recent Foreword to the Nov. 2020 issue of the Harvard Law Review, entitled “The Degradation of American Democracy—and the Court.”  He will briefly describe the recent deterioration of American democracy, its causes, the Supreme Court’s failure to stem the degradation, and some possible remedies.

Click on the link below and it will take you to the Harvard Law Review webpage with an introduction and the full text of Professor Klarman's article which is the basis of this webinar.  It's a fabulous publication and we encourage the inquiring minds in our Club to read it before the webinar!
