Danielle Sherwood loves bringing Harvard Alumni together – especially for a good cause. “Meeting new people is wonderful, but what we do isn’t just about networking,” she said. “We’re having a real impact in our area.
“The educational events in particular are really special,” she continued. “The recent Arthrex event was probably our most popular event this year. Events that focus on education or are topical or relevant – we’re looking at creating more events like that.”
Danielle also spoke about curated experiences her group develops, such as in-depth experiences with locations like Naples Arts Institute. “The Director of the institute took a group of us on a private tour of the museum, which was fascinating,” she said. “We got to hear all of his in-depth knowledge about the artwork. It was like having a tour with your own private docent!”
In addition, Danielle is passionate about the work HCN does for non-profits (NFPs) and scholarships.“(HCN has) now sent 24 CEOs from Lee and Collier county NFPs to an HBS certificate program,” she said. “All of them talk about how it transformed their leadership, fundraising, management, and advocacy for their organization. We’ve also sent many Principals from the Southwest Florida area to the Office for Executive Education, and provided scholarships for undergraduate students to attend the College – so I love the charitable portion of what we do.”
